The logo for the next Eurovision Song Contest has been selected by LTV. The logo is called upes (Rivers) and has been designed by LTV artist Kristaps Skulte. He will receive a prize of EUR 1600. For now the logo design is remaining secret, though is expected to be published very shortly.

The artist has explained that the logo was inspired by Latvia's association with water: “There are 12,000 rivers and 2,300 lakes in the country. The central part of the logo symbolise the sea to which all rivers and roads are running like the music of different countries flows to the Eurovision Song Contest. The logo is wing-shaped to form associations with flight. It is also a symbolic bridge between people, nations and states”, the designer says.

The logo and the concept are now to be passed to the European Broadcasting Union for approval.
