Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd will represent Greece at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen with Rise Up.

Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd was declared the winner of the winner of the 2014 Greek Eurovision national final after a jury/televoting deliberation.

A total of 4 acts battled for the golden ticket to Copehangen during tonight’s 2014 Greek Eurovision national final which was aired on DT (HPRT), the interim Greek tv channel.

The show celebrated the 40th anniversary of Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest. Many former Greek Eurovision representatives graced the occasion and performed during the show: Koza Mostra and Agathon Iakovidis (2013), Kalomoira (2008), Keti Garbi (1993), Sofia Vosou (1991), Elpida (1979) and the 1977 Greek participants (Bessy Argiraki, Marianna Toli, Paschalis and Robert Williams). 

Despina Vandi and Giorgos Kapoutzidis hosted the 2014 Greek Euovision national which was held at the Acro Music Hall in Athens.

Greece debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the entry Krasi, thalassa kai t’ agori moi performed by Marinella. Marinella ended in 11th place with a total of 7 points. Greece’s best results was in 2005 when Helena Paparizou was selected to represent Greece with the song My number one. Helena won the contest with a total of 230 points, bringing Greece their first and only victory to date.
