The Belgian broadcaster VRT held two castings in December as the first step of the national selection for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The first castings could be seen on 2 February. In the second casting, fifteen more artists performed cover versions of Eurovision songs and four of them were given way to the semi-finals.
Last week it was announced that Eva Jacobs, Axel Hirsoux, Nelson and Udo would be in the Belgian Eurosong semi-finals after their successful act in the first casting.
Today we learned that they will be joined by Petra, Yass, Tisha Cyrus and Axeela after the group of experts Bart Peeters, Piet Goddaer, and Jef Martens selected them for the semi-finals in the second casting. The acts in the 5th through the 8th position, Day One, SIL, Bandits and Mr. Jones will have a second chance in the Callback on 16 February.

Belgium’s first participation in the Eurovision Song Contest was in 1956. The country won the contest in 1986 with J’aime la vie performed by Sandra Kim.
