Spain: Ruth Lorenzo to Copenhagen!

TVE, the Spanish broadcaster held the 2014 Spanish national final tonight at the TVE Sant Cugat studios in Sant Cugat, Barcelona. Ruth Lorenzo was declared the winner after a 50/50 jury televoting deliberation. Hence she will fly the Spanish flag in Copenhagen with Dancing in the rain.

Ruth Lorenzo will represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Dancing in the rain.

The 2014 Spanish Eurovision national final  ¡Mira quién va a Eurovisión! was held at the TVE studios in Sant Cugat in Barcelona tonight. A total of 5 acts  battled for the golden ticket to Copenhagen: Brequette, Ruth Lorenzo, La Dama, Jorge Gonzalez and Raul. The show was hosted by Anne Igartiburu.

Monica Naranjo, David Bustamente and Merche were on the special jury that was partly responsible to select the 2014 Spanish Eurovision Eurovision entry and representative. The 2014 Spanish Eurovision entry  and representative was selected via a 50/50 jury- televoting deliberation.

Gisela the 2008 Andorran representative and backing vocalist for Rosa (Spain 2002) performed a medley of Eurovision songs during the show.

Spain as one of the BIG 5 countries is automatically qualifed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest grand final.  Therefore Spain will compete at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest grand final on 10 May in Copenhagen.

Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the even on 2 occasions in 1968 with Massiel and in 1969 on home soil with Salome.
