Tonight, in the tenth show of Eurovizijos 2014, the Lithuanian national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest, Monika Linkyte was eliminated from the competition after receiving the lowest score once the jury and public vote were combined.

This means that Mia, Vaidas Baumila and Vilija Mataciunaite all progress to show eleven, which will take place next weekend.

In tonight’s show, the final four performed two of the remaining eight potential entries and Mia won the televote after her two performances, whilst Vaidas topped the jury vote.

During the week the results of the song vote will be announced and two more songs will be eliminated ahead of show eleven, where  the final three will perform two of the six songs that will remain in the competition.

Remaining Eurovizijos 2014 schedule:

  • 22 February – Show 11
  • 01 March – Show 12 / Grand Final
  • 15 March – Show 13 / Good Luck Concert

2014 marks 20 years since Lithuania’s debut in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1994. They are yet to win the competition but their best result came at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 where LT United finished in sixth place.

Last year, Andrius Pojavis represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Sweden with his songSomething, finishing 22nd in the final with 17 points.
