The ten french participants bidding to win France's first victory at the Eurovision Song Contest in 30 years each took to the stage tonight to present their entry for the upcoming 'Eurovision 2007' national final in France. At an exclusive invitation-only event at the Reservoir Club in Paris, France Televisions. Of course, esctoday.com was there to cover the event, and several of our readers who took up the kind offer for special tickets have reported an excellent evening. The show was initmate and professional, showing that Bruno Berberes has got France Televisions to really push for better coverage and involvement than France has seen for several years. There is a clear desire to lift France from their recent poor results in the Eurovision Song Contest to push hard for victory by presenting a choice of varied modern music that clearly represents a wide variety of French musical tastes.

With a crowd of approximately 250 French music and media professionals, journalists and a few lucky esctoday.com readers, each participant presented their song on stage after a brief introduction from the evening's compare. The official preview videos of the ten songs were also presented on a television screen. The video clips are to be screened twice daily across French television, a further indication that France Televisions are working hard to return the Eurovision Song Contest to the heart of French musical interest, as Bruno Berberes explained last Friday to esctoday.com:

"I'm really proud of my team, last year i agreed with the selection, but this year we have some fantastic songs and we are really trying to bring Eurovision back to France. Have heard some of the songs we have to produce a show that appeals to the whole French market and not just the Eurovision fans".

Jonatan Cerrada and Marie Myriam, France's last winner in 1977 were special guests of the evening and one half of the national final host team, Julien Lepers, was in attendance.
