The second Slovene semi final is live and underway. 12 songs are competing and the top seven will move forward to the final which will be held tomorrow. The show has started at 19:55 CET.
You can follow the webcast here.
Seven songs were selected from yesterday's show and seven will be selected tonight. All but one of the songs have been selected by an internal jury, whilst Eva Černe gets a wildcard as the winner of Bitka Talentov, the same as Omar Naber did in EMA 2005 – which he later ended up winning.
Televoting will be used: People will be able to vote via phone, mobile phone and SMS. Tomorrow in the final round, two entries will qualify for a 'super' final round in which the winner will be decided. If anything should go wrong with the televoting, a backup jury will decide the winner.
LIVE
At the beginning, ABBA's Waterloo – a Eurovision Song Contest classic – was played and illustrated by some dancers.
Eva Černe – Čudei smehljaja
Eva is wearing a red dress that is covering the whole stage. The background singers are rolling over the floor, wearing – quiet – lascivious outfits. The song is a mid-tempo ballad / pop song.
Bojana Glatz – Vse se isto zdi
The female lead singer is playing the piano – therefore it probably doesn't need to be mentioned that she is singing a ballad. It's similar to many other national final entries. Very good vocal performance.
Brigitt Rose – Prigi večni plamen
A magician is on stage. He does not perform the interval act as you might expect but he is a background dancer for the third entry, an up-tempo song. The song is partly performed in English.
Folkrola – 19XX
The band is giving a simple stage performance. The song reminds of some Portuguese entries in the 1980 and 1990s.
Rok Kosmač – Ko še spiš
Another simple performance and ballad. An average reaction by the audience.
Teja Haver – Virtual girl
The singer seems to have stolen Sanda's (Romania 2004) dress and P!nk's hairstyle. The song is a mid-tempo pop song.
Nude – Element L
A band looking like the ghost busters are performing the seventh entry under the name Nude. The song is in a rock style but more of a pop song.
ana – Druga violina
A classic ballad including a key change, a white dress and a windmachine – this song is obviously made for the EurovisionSong Contest.
Zlati Muzikanti – Pepelka
The band is dressed in medieval clothes which reflects the spirit of the song. The arrangement is different from most of the other songs tonight.
Tadeja Fatur – Drugačna (pesem)
The female singer is accompanied by two dancers in the background. The song is similar to some other songs of the evening.
Steffy & donald TrumpeT – Zadel si me v ivo
The lead singer is wearing a red dress, the band behind her (tuba, trumpet…) are all dressed in black. The arrangement is very interesting and reminds a bit of Y así.
Denis – Nor sem nate
A big D is in the background. Although the song is sung in Slovene, the show is obviously inspired by US American music but still fits well with the song.
You can expect a detailed review of the show and the resulst later tonight.
