IBA, the Israeli broadcaster, has  announced the three entries that will compete for the honor of representing Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, with the voice of Mei Finegold.

A sum of 78 songs that were submitted by the public, were presented to the IBA committee without mentioning the authors’ name. During the first round of voting, the number was reduced to a final list of 10. Out of them, two entries were selected and will take part in the national final.

According to the IBA rules, the selected artist has the right to bring one or more songs to the committee. Mei Finegold has submitted a song and it will be the third finalist.

The songs that will compete in the national final are:

  • Same heart (l & m: Rami Talmid)
  • Nish’eret iti (Staying with me) (l: Loren de Paz, m: Liran de Paz & Chen Metzger Adar)
  • Be proud (l & m: Mei Finegold)

Chen Metzger Adar is a familiar face to Eurovision, as he produced the 2013 Israeli entry, Rak bishvilo.

A videoclip will be shot for every song and they will be presented during a press conference, planned to be held on February 27th. Right afterwards, the voting phase will open on TV, radio and online. A special TV show will be held on March 6th, where the Israeli entry will be announced.

Mei Finegold was announced earlier as the Israeli representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. She will take part in the first half of the second semi-final on May 8, hoping to bring the mediterranean country to the final for the first time since 2010.
