Latvia: Ēriks Loks and Nauris Brikmanis to host Dziesma 2014

LTV, the Latvian national broadcaster has announced that Erik Loks and Nauris Brikmanis will have the honour of hosting the 2014 Latvian national selection- Dziesma 2014.

On February 1 and 2, twenty-four songs penned by the Latvian authors with the motto „MADE IN LATVIA” enter the competition for the ticket to Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark.

For the second year the semi-finals will be held at the PALLADIUM Concert Hall in Riga with a standing audience. This format was appreciated by the performers and the musicians.

Three atractive and charming men are selected to host the events. Currently, only two of them have been revealed – DJ and event host Ēriks Loks and the actor of improvisation theatre Nauris Brikmanis. The third host will be reveale the grand final in Ventspils.

Songs created by the Latvian musicians only are participating in the contest this year. The Latvian produce has an incredible power which has to be noticed and noted. Getting inspired by that power is the prerequisite to win Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark. The shows this year are going to inspire the participants and everyone in Latvia to find the spark for daring and grand challenges- says Zane Gargažina, the director of National Selection for Eurovision Song Contest.

By means of jury and televote, 6 songs out of 12 from each semi-final will be selected to proceed to the final taking place on February 22 in Ventspils. The 24 songs are available at www.eirovizija.lv.

Both semi-finals and the final show as well as the Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast at LTV1 and at ltv.lv website.

Latvian Television is hosting the national selection for Eurovision Song Contest in collaboration with Ventspils City which provides invaluable support which is essential to Latvian musicians and the society.
