Tonight the third heat of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2014, the national selection for Finland’s Eurovision Song Contest entry, will air live on their national broadcaster, YLE.
Six of the 12 acts competing in UMK this year will take to the stage tonight looking to move a step closer to representing Finland in Copenhagen next May.
The show
Tonight will see six of the 12 hopefuls perform their entries with one song progressing to the grand final, four going to the semi-final and the song that finishes the night in last place will be eliminated from the competition.
The results will be determined by a combination of public and jury vote. The Finnish public has been able to vote since the beginning of the week, and Aija Puurtinen, Toni Wirtanen, Redrama and Tomi Saarinen all return from last year’s competition to form the jury.
Arion, who finished fifth in last year’s competition, will be performing as special guests.
