TVR, the Romanian national broadcaster has announced that Romania will hold a national final on 1 March in order to select its 2014 Eurovision entry. A total of 12 acts will battle to represent Romania at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
Artists wishing to compete in the Romanian national selection can do so by submitting their applications from 15 January- 15 February. A special internal preselection where a special jury will evaluate all received entries, will be held on 19 and 20 February. The special jury will select a total of 12 acts for the grand final. The names of the competing candidates will be announced on 20 February.
Romania and TVR have once again opted for a national selection in order to select their Eurovision representative and entry.
In 2013 Cezar represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with It’s my life achieving a 13th place in the final.
Romania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with Dan Bittman and is yet to win the event. Romania’s highest placing at the Eurovision Song Contest has been a 3rd placing in 2005 with Luminita Anghel’s Let me cry and in 2010 with Ovi and Paula Seling‘s Playing with fire.
