Swedish broadcaster SVT has launched a new version of their Melodifestivalen site in time for 2007, with details on all the participating artists and songs in the 2007 edition of the Swedish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest.
A new feature of the Melodifestivalen website for 2007 is that on each Friday throughout February, the songs for the upcoming semi final will be published online on the SVT site – marking the first time that Melodifestivalen entries are available to hear the day before their semi. In the past, they were released for listening on radio and for a short period on online on Saturday afternoons before the semi final.
As usual, the national Swedish radio station, SR, will also play the songs, but now they will also do it on Friday, from 21:06-22:00 CET, starting on February 2nd.
The Swedish semi finals will take place on February 3rd, February 10th, February 17th and February 24th, with the second chance round getting its own live show for the first time on March 3rd, and the grand final being held in Stockholm on the 10th March after touring the country.
Whoever represents Sweden will get to start in the final in Helsinki thanks to Carola's 5th place in Athens with Invincible.
