Daniel Popovic, the 51-year-old Montenegrin singer who placed 4th at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest for Yugoslavia with the European mega-hit Duli/Julie, will take part in this year's Croatian preselection Dora with his son and daughter.

Daniel, his 20-year old son Sebastian and 16-year-old daughter Isabella from his second marriage will be joined on stage in Opatija by the 17-year-old secodary schoolgirl Snjeana Ivana Pandl, who has experience in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the Krapinski Festival, with the song "O Ema, Emili" (Oh Emma, Emily).

Daniel describes his song as "a little love song, with shades of pop, rock and dance", and hopes it will be third time lucky for him at the Eurovision Song Contest. For as well as his fourth-placed Duli, he was runner-up at the Yugoslav preselection Jugovizija in 1991. Heavily tipped and fully expected to win with his song "Ma daj obuci levisice" (Oh come on and put on your Levis), Daniel was pipped at the post by Bebi Dol, whose song "Brazil" only managed to score one point in Rome.

Daniel says that he doesn't usually send his songs to festivals, only to Eurovision, and that his biggest problem was persuading Sebastian to join the group. Isabella and Sneana Ivana have already performed with Daniel in garages in Slovenia, Germany and Austria under the stage name Bonita.

When asked why he was participating again he said "Why should I not repeat my previous success?"!
