In November Switzerland staged an expert panel check to decide the six finalists who will compete for the right to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, and those six hopefuls will take to the stage once again in the national final on 01 February.
The six songs represent three different broadcasters; the Swiss-Italian broadcaster RSI has one song in the final, RTS, the French-Swiss broadcaster has two finalists and the other three finalists come from a selection held by the German-Swiss language broadcaster SRF.
In the final on February 01, each of the six finalists will perform their potential Eurovision entry as well as a cover version of another song in order to showcase their ability. The winner will be decided by the public and a jury vote, each with a 50% say in the overall outcome.
