Five years after the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was launched, the Eurovision family will be extented once again: The EBU created the Eurovision Dance Contest, to be held on 1st September 2007 for the first time. A kick-off production meeting took place yesterday in London at the BBC. This new international production consists of a ballroom, latin and freestyle dance competition between mixed couples.

The show will be broadcast live at 21:00 CET, hosted by the United Kingdom and organised and produced by Splash Media and Sunset+V in collaboration with Eurovision TV.
