Tonight at 21:00 local time on LRT 1, the Lithuanian public will have the opportunity to meet half of the participants of this year's semi finals. 26 out of the 50 participants will present themselves during a pre-recorded show hosted by Rolandas Vilkoncius and Gabriele Bartkute.

Jonas Vilimas of LRT explains to Eurovision.tv: "Tonight and next week, 50 participants will be presented to the audience. After next week's introduction show, the jury will select a number of entries for a pre-selection heat on the 27th of January, depending on the quality. The selected newcomers will then compete in a pre-selection, just like the participants in the other two groups on the 3rd and 10th of February. The winners of these three heats will then compete in two semi-finals on the 17th and 24th of February. The winners of the two semi-finals will then meet for the final on the 3rd of March".

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
