Meet Linda

Linda is a very young singer from Tallinn. Linda Zagorska was born in Latvia sixteen years ago- barely making the Eurovision Song Contest minimum age limit this year. She considers herself to be a Latvian, although she moved to Estonia from her homeland Latvia at the age of five.

Linda is studying singing at the WAF Singing and Dance School under the instruction of Maiken and Jakko Maltis (both former Eurolaul participants). She owes her participation in this year's Eurolaul to her professional relationship with Pearu Paulus, Ilmar Laisaar and Alar Kotkas, the famous songwriting trio that has given us Once in a lifetime ( 4th place in 2000), Runaway ( 3rd place in 2002) and last year's Through my window ( 18th place in the semi final).

Linda is fully aware of how demanding Eurolaul is and she says she has no illusions. She believes Vanilla Ninja and Gerli Peadar to be her strongest rivals this year. She is going to perform 1 year from now, a song composed by Paulus, Laisaar and Kotkas and written by Jana Hallas.

Due to Estonia's 18th place finish in the semi-final of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, Estonia will attempt to appear in this year's final for the first time since 2003.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
