Kirsten & Søren or Hot Eyes, as they called themselves internationally, are reuniting for the 2007 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix Cavalcade, a concert also including Eurovision names as Kenny & Lotte and Gry. The concert takes place at Mantziusgården in Birkerød, Sealand, the 27th of April 2007.

Kirsten & Søren represented Denmark three times in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1983 Kirsten Siggaard took part in the Danish final with the song Og Livet Går written by Søren Bundgaard. Though the song only came 7th it became the start of a great career for those two.

The following year, in 1984 they won the national final and represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Det’ Lige Det. This song is known in Denmark as the swimming pool song as Kirsten pushed Søren into a swimming pool during the national final performance (see the youtube clip below). They ended 4th in Luxembourg, at that time Denmark’s best placement in the contest since its victory in 1963!

The year after they tried again, won the national final and came 11th with Sku' Du Spørg' Fra No'en, a song mostly remembered by the fact that Søren’s 9 year old daughter Lea was quite a big part of the stage performance at the international contest. In the following two years they took part in the national final without winning, but in 1988 they were back in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Ka' Du se Hva'Jeg Sa' and this time they did even better than in 1984 as they came 3rd. Shortly after they split up as Kirsten wanted to try more things on her own and since that they have only been together for special events.

Another duo is included in the concert, Kenny & Lotte who represented Denmark in 1992 with the song Alt Det Som Ingen Ser which came 12th, a placement which in Denmark was seen as being due to the fact that the song encouraged adultery! Kenny was a rock singer and had not previously taken part in the contest while Lotte however was experienced within the national final as a part of the female duo Snapshot who has come 2nd twice and one time 3rd. Since the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest Kenny & Lotte has only performed together on rare occasions.

The third name at this concert is Gry who represented Denmark in 1983 with the song called Kloden Drejer. She didn’t do well, came 17th in the contest held in Germany and though she has since taken part in the national final she hasn’t so far had the chance for a Eurovision revenge. She has however had quite a good career in Germany, under a different name though as a record company mixed up some names which they couldn't be borthered to change as the career got going.

Tickets for the concert can be bought through Billet Net at prices vary from 180 – 260dkr (24 – 34 euros).

Four Kirsten & SørenCDs at budget pricesare available from CDON, along with the Danish double CD of MPG history.
