Nane Gronvall was presented today with her certificate for winning the 2006 esctoday.com past participant of the year award. The singer, who has overcome her battle with breast cancer and returned to the stage on her way to Melodifestivalen 2007 received the award after her matinee performance in the musical Sweet Charity this afternoon.
Nanne was thrilled to receive the award for previous participant of the year and said: "Thank you so much. This is such a special award, I am so happy and it really means a lot. I am truly grateful to the wonderful fans and I look forward to seeing you at Melodifestivalen".

Nanne is currenly finishing her second stint in the popular musical in Stockholm. She returned to the show in October after recovering from treatment in her battle against breast cancer, playing the lead role as the character Charity Hope Valentine. Her final performance will be tomorrow before auditions for her backing troup begin for the Melodifestivalen performance.
Nanne is bidding to win Melodifestivalen for a second time with her tenth appearance in the competition. She was part of the group One More Time that won Melodfesitvalen and finished 3rd with 100 points for their song Den vilda at the 1996 Contest. One More Time was a trio consisting of Peter and Nanne Grönvall (husband and wife) and Maria Rådsten. They were formed in 1991 and released two albums prior to winning Melodifestivalen 1996: Highland in 1992 and One More Time in 1994. Highland was a major hit in several countries and reached the Top Ten on the hit parade in Sweden, Norway, Belgium, The Czech Republic and Israel – South Africa it became a gold record (sold more than 50,000 copies).
