As the 60’s began to close Ireland caught on to the rock and roll trend with the Muriel Day entry, Wages of love. Unfortunately seeing as Muriel had obviously spent all her wages and with no money must have been stone broke leaving her with an outfit that can be best described as a cross dressing hyperactive leprechaun on a Christmas tree topping. This didn’t deter Muriel as the song itself was a bouncy catchy number which finished in 7th place. despite Muriel’s precarious financial and fashion situation.
