The Spanish commentator for the last three years, Beatriz Pécker, is to leave Televisión Española due to the Employment Regulation, one of the instruments that have to turn the broadcaster into a Public Corporation.
The upcoming RTVE Corporation, to start next January 1st, has the important mission of reducing the sky-high debt (over €7500 million). 4,150 workers are leaving TVE, and many of them are historic and well-known faces, such as Beatriz Pécker, thecommentator of theEurovison Song Contest for Spain for the lastthree years, after replacingJosé Luis Uribarri.
Beatriz Pécker has been presenting Fiebre del Sábado Noche on Radio Nacional de España-Radio 1 until now. Beatriz, who has been linked to RTVE since 1977, has developed different labours for the public broadcaster such as directing and presenting musical, cultural and informative programmes on TVE and RNE.
Caravana de Amigos, La Barraca, La Música del Texto, Don Domingo or Clave de Sol are the names of some of the programmes she has hosted on the different RNE stations: Radio 1, Radio 3 (RNE's musical radiostation) and Radio Exterior de España (REE). She also did the first programme about erotism on the Spanish waves, accompanied by the famous Spanish film director Luis García Berlanga.
At the end of the1980s, Beatriz directed Música Golfa and Rockopop, both programmes aired on TVE, and collaborated with La Mandrágora (TVE2) as well.
