Romanian broadcaster TVR has announced today that Romania will once again have a national final, known as Selectia Nationala, in 2007, in order to pick it's entry for Helsinki. There will be two semi-finals, to be held on 27th January and 3rd February. The final will be held on 10th February. Entries must be submitted before the deadline on 13th January.
Artists can submit songs and 'mottos' until January 13th 2007. Last year TVR also asked for 'mottos' rather than song titles, which resulted in a lot of confusion on the part of eurofans when TVR announced the list of artists and mottos!
The Romanian final will be held on 10th February, with 12 songs competing. Semi finals will be held previous to the final on the 27th January and the 3rd February, also each with 12 songs, from which 6 will qualify for the final. As usual, a 50% televoting 50% jury mix will decide the winner.
