Ukrainian broadcaster, NTU seems to be moving closer towards an internal selection to determine their 2007 Eurovision Song Contest entry. This news, first announced on esctoday.com back on November 16th, comes despite the success of the You're A Star format in 2006 that selected Tina Karol. She went on to secure Ukraine a berth in the 2007 final.
Drag star Verka Seduchka (or Andrey Danilko) is said to be the main candidate being considered, possibly with the song Hello Europe. The artist has the support of the NTU president, Mr. Dokalenkoand was first reported back on esctoday.com back on 16th November. As yet it is unknown when Ukraine will announce their selection, but it is interesting to note that Serduchka has come up repeatedly as a name for the Ukraine in the past few years.
The Ukraine have won once already, in 2004, with the internally selected Ruslana. In 2007 the Ukraine will start in the final, thanks to Tina Karol's 7th place in Athens with Show Me Your Love.
