RTSH the Albanian national broadcaster has informed Esctoday.com that the 52nd Albanian Song Contest Festivali i Këngës 2013 will be held from the 20th- 22nd of December in the majestic Albanian capital city of Tirana. The winner of this Albanian music festival will be awarded the golden ticket to represent Albania at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.

The 2013 Festivali i Këngës will be aired live on RTSH on Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 December 2013. Hence on Sunday 22 December we will know which lucky act and entry will represent Albania at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

Last July RTSH confirmed to esctoday that Albania would participate at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. Last month the Albanian broadcaster opened the subsmission period for artists and composers wishing to compete in the 52nd edition of Festival I Kenges to submit their applications. The deadline for submission is on 9 October.

RTSH will be revealing more details regarding the 2013 Festivali i Këngës in due course.

Adrian Lulgjurak and Bledar Sejko represented Albania at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with Identitet. Despite a strong and energetic performance the duo failed to qualify for the final.

Albania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini’The Image of You. Albania is yet to win the event, the country’s best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2012 with Ronna Nishliu‘s Suus, which ahchieved a 5th placing.
