Earlier this morning, Martin Österdahl, Executive Producer of Melodifestivalen 2007, was on SVT's morning show to reveal two new songs for next years Melodifestival.

The first song revealed was Cara mia, which will be performed by a male singer in the contest. This is an uptempo eurovision style song. The other song selected was Allt vi en gång trodde på (Everything we once believed in), composed by Johan Kinde, a well known Swedish artist and producer. Johan Kinde was also a member of the Swedish group Lustans Lakejer, which had several hits in the 1980's. Many people now hope for a reunion of the group and to see them on stage in next years Melodifestival.

Martin Österdahl said that these two songs were selected in order to make the songlist of Melodifestivalen 2007 as diversified as possible. Now the work with finding the four wildcards will continue and the speculations continue as well. Themost recentname to appear as a potential wildcard is Charlotte Perrelli, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden in 1999 with the song Take me to your heaven. Sources close to Charlotte have however said that it is highly unlikely that she will take part in the show as a competitor.

One further change to the line up, is a change to the song title by the composer team of Dimitrios Stassos, Jason Gill & Sofia Berntsson. The song will now be called Ipopta vlemata (Suspicious eyes, or Hypnotised). The competition will have more of an international feel this year, with a song in Greek, another in Italian, plusone Iranian and of course, many in English and Swedish. The Swedish/Iranian song is likely to be performed by Rostam Mirlashari who came to Sweden in 1991 as a political refugee. Rostam is very popular amongst his people in Sweden and throughout Europe and has released two albums so far.

SVT will have a press conference at the end of November when they will be confirming all the artists taking part in next years event and of course which songs they will be performing.
