Reliable Turkish newspaper Hurriyet have quoted Zerrin Özer's record company, stating that the singer is talking to TRT about a participation in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with an English song. She is said to be really interested in singing for Turkey.

The 45 year old singer is a star in Turkey, having released more than ten albums. Between 1978 and 1980, she worked with İstanbul Gelişim Orchestra on jazz and dance music projects. In 1980 she was awarded her first gold record for the song Gönül. In 2000, her 'greatest hits' album named Bir zerrin özer arşivi was published. Zerrin Özer received several prizes and has also performed internationally.

In 2006, Turkey finished 11th in the final with Sibel Tüzün's Süper star. She missed the direct qualification for the 2007 final by only two points, therefore Turkey will have to compete again in the semi final in Helsinki.
