Freddy Quinn, who represented Germany in the very first Eurovision Song Contest, back in 1956, will celebrate his 75th birthday on 27th September. Therefore, the German broadcaster MDR will broadcast a special programme called Schön war die Zeit (It was a nice time) to celebrate this anniversary.
After having taken part in the contest, Freddy Quinn went on to become one of the most succesful German singers ever. Although his entry So geht das jede Nacht wasn't a big success, 23 of his singles managed to enter the Top 10 and ten songs even reached the number 1. Remarkably, he is said to have recorded more than 1000 songs in his life. Furthermore,Quinn has acted in lots of succesful German music movies.
The show will be broadcasted on 27th September at 20:45 CET. Among the guests will be Heidi Kabel, Peer Augustinski, Karl Dall and Marie-Luise Marjan.
