Dates and places Melodifestivalen 2007 announced

Swedish broadcaster SVT confirmed and released the dates and cities for Melodifestivalen 2007, the Swedish national selection for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, Finland. Jönköping, Göteborg, Örnsköldsvik, Gävle, and Nyköping will welcome a semi final, Stockholm will host the final once again.

The schedule for Melodifestivalen 2007 is as follows:

1st semi final:3 February -Kinnarps arena, Jönköping
2nd semi final:10 February -Scandinavium, Göteborg
3rd semi final:17 February -Swebank arena, Örnsköldsvik
4th semi final:24 February -Läkerol arena, Gävle
2nd chance round:3 March -Rosvalla event center, Nyköping
Final:10 March -Globen, Stockholm

The final of next year's Swedish national Eurovision Song Contest selection will traditionally take place in Stockholm's Globen Arena, where the Eurovision Song Contest took place in 2000. It's the seventh time the venue will host, without doubt, the largest national selection final in Europe.

Sweden finished in fifth place in Athens this year so Sweden is automatically qualified for next year's final.
