The alternative rock band Corbin are the first artists to be named as potential candidates for Norway's 2007 Eurovision Song Contest participation in Helsinki, it was announced today in the newspaper Østlands-Posten.

According to the article, Corbin band member Pål Tostrup has accepted an invitation from NRK to participate in the Melodi Grand Prix 2007, and has now begun working on a song, although this is yet to be confirmed by NRK. He promises that "it won't be a typical song" for Eurovision, which is appropriate given the band's normal repertoire of alternative rock.

Corbin became well-known in Norway after they landed a radio hit with their song "The dreamers".
