Yesterday, Hamburg's mayor Ole von Beust hold a reception for Texas Lightning. He expressed great trust in the country band which is going to represent Germany at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Athens: “There is a good chance that the band will make the top three”, von Beust said.

Jane Comerford, Olli Dittrich, Jon Fleming Olsen, Markus Schmidt and Uwe Frenzel were more modest in their reaction. "We hope to do better than last year", they jokingly said in allusion to Gracia's last place in Kyiv. Von Beust's enthusiasm is shared by German fans: quite unusual for an Eurovision entry, 'No no never' stillholds the second position in this week's German Top 100 singles charts.

Of course, Hamburg will again be the place of the official German Eurovision party. Due to a construction site on the famous Reeperbahn, the festivites have to move to the Delphi Theatre this year, from where host Thomas Hermanns will announce the German points. Thomas Anders, Claudia Roth, Lotto King Karl, Joy Fleming, Georg Uecker andcomedian Sascha Korf are guests of the show. Hamburg's mayor Ole von Beust may join them, or watch "the contest together with friends", as he stated at Texas Lightning's reception.
