Moldova and the Eurovision Song Contest
The first Moldovan participation, last year, was a successful one. The band Zdob si Zdub, along withagrandmother, qualified for the final and reached a remarkable 6th place. To select their 2006 entry, TRM organised a national final on 25th February. Alexa & Moldstar, Serj Kuzenkoff and Geta Burlacu hadto share the first place and because the youngest jury member refused to pick the winning song in that case, a second national final had to be scheduled. Arsenie Toderas, alias Arsenium, featuring Natalia Gordienko, won and thus will represent Moldova in the final of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.

22-year old Arsenie Toderas was part of the group O-zone, famous for their 2004 summer hit Dragostea din tei. 18-year old Natalia Gordienko has stage experience as well; last year, she came third in the first Moldovan national selection with the song Tablou pe sticla. The duo will be accompanied by rapper Connect-R.
