Tina Karol has won the final of Ty-zirka with the uptempo song I am your queen and, with it, the ticket to Athens to represent Ukraine at the 51st Eurovision Song Contest!

There were three contestants left in the final show of Ty-zirka, and after each of them performed their songs in English, phone lines were opened for just twenty minutes. Following this, 10, 11 and 12 points were awarded to each artist based on the phone results, and then again by the expert jury. The results were as follows, with the phone result, jury result and total:

1. Tina Karol – 12 + 12 = 24
2. Irina Rozenfeld – 11 + 10 = 21
2. Kirill Turichenko – 10 + 11 = 21

There had been some controversy surrounding Tina Karol earlier this week, when it emerged that a group representing various musical bodies in Ukraine had composed a letter to president Yushenko, which complained of unfairness in the selection process, and a bias towards Tina Karol.

Tina must now face the international qualifier round in Athens due to Ukraine's disappointing home result in 2005.
