BBC cannot confirm date national final yet

The BBC have restated that they cannot yet confirm the date of Making your mind up 2006, the UK selection for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Various sites have today reported that the BBC had confirmed that the show would be broadcast on Saturday 4th March.

Speaking today, Kirsty Campbell of the BBC told esctoday.com: “We expect to announce the line up in one to two weeks time, but the transmission date will most likely be confirmed in mid-late February”.

The show to decide the United Kingdom�s 2006 Eurovision Song Contest entry is expected to feature five songs competing for the public�s vote. Tickets will be available for the event free of charge on a first come, first serve basis. Applications for tickets will most likely be available through the BBC website. The United Kingdom is one of the 'Big-4' countries and will participate in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 20th May in Athens.
