RTP plans rely on producers

Earlier this week, we reported that Portuguese broadcaster RTP started to unveil its plans concerning the procedure to select the Portuguese song for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. However, some suprises might arise. Five producers can still turn the tide…

From Nuno Figueira of RTP esctoday.com learned that the Portuguese broadcaster strongly prefers to organise a public selection. However, if the five invited producers set tough conditions to take part in it, RTP might give up of the idea and thus another format will have to be used in order to choose the Portuguese song for Athens. In that case, an internal selection is among the options as well.

Next week, esctoday.com expects to bring you the names of the five invited producers, as well as further data on the Portuguese selection for the 51st Eurovision Song Contest. Stay tuned!
