Birthe Kjær, who was supposed to play a role in the 50th anniversary event Congratulations, ended up in hospital after a heart attack. Tomas Thordarson will replace the singer.
Birthe Kjær participated in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest, singing Vi maler byen rød. She came third. During the rehearsals of another television programme, she suddenly felt unwell. In hospital, it appeared she had a heart attack. Therefore, she won't be present in the Forum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, Saturday.
Tomas Thordarson, who represented Denmark last year with Shame on you, will replace Birthe Kjær. Danish broadcaster DR, host broadcaster of the event, confirmed that earlier today.
There are still tickets available for Congratulations through billetnet.dk.
We'd like to wish Birthe Kjær all the best with her recovery! Take care!
