The Slovenian representative for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens will be chosen on 5th February, 2006. Evrovizija.com wrote that earlier this week.

The decision will be taken by televoters and a professional jury. More details about EMA06 are expected to be released soon.

In Kyiv, Omar Naber ended 12th in the semifinal with Stop, and thus didn't manage to qualify for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest final. The duo Platin, with Stay forever, ended 21st in the semifinal of the 2004 contest in Istanbul. In 2003, Slovenia ended 23rd, in 2002 13th and in 2001 7th (just like in 1995). Slovenian participants never reached a higher position in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest.
