A duo and a long song title! That's the result of Latvia's Junior Eurovision Song Contest selection. Es esmu maza, jauka meitene (I am a little, lovely girl), performed by Daniels & Monta, is the song chosen by Latvia to represent the country in Hasselt, Belgium, on 26th November.

In the show Bērnu Eirovīzija, hosted by 2005 Eurovision Song Contest representatives Walters & Kazha, 10 performers competed to win the Latvian ticket for Hasselt. Daniels Groza and Monta Beļinska from Smiltene, along with their band, ended first with 2,331 votes.

Some background information about the winners; Daniels and Monta sing in the pop group Okey in their hometown Smiltene. Daniel likes reading, his favourite is The Lord of the Rings. Monta prefers poetry and stories.

Last year, the Latvian representatives Martins and his friends from C-Stones Juniors ended shared last with only 3 points.
