Background information
It's unknown which 10 songs have been chosen by the audience and which 4 by the internal commission. Earlier, the European Broadcasting Union announced that, if one of the Big Four countries (Spain, France, United Kingdom and Germany) was not represented, these four open spots would be made available for one of their entries. However, France is not present in this list. Esctoday.com asked the EBU for a clarification.
Johnny Logan is present in the list with both his Irish Eurovision Song Contest winners, What's another year and Hold me now. The United Kingdom, where the 50th anniversary show will not be broadcast by the BBC, has two songs in the list.
The last Eurovision Song Contest winner, Helena Paparizou, is present in the all-time favourites list. Three more songs from the past 10 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest managed to get through. However, first Eurovision Song Contest winner Lys Assia has not been chosen.
The biggest Eurovision Song Contest hit ever, Nel blu di pinto di blu (Volare), which remarkably did not win the contest itself, is present in the list. The three most famous Eurovision Song Contest participants, Cliff Richard, ABBA and Céline Dion, were also chosen.
Televoting
During the show Congratulations, 50 years of Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Copenhagen's Forum, the televoter can choose the best all-time Eurovision Song Contest song. More information about tickets for the event will be made available in August. When the actual ticket sale starts, is yet unknown.
