Swedish broadcaster SVT has selected the ten finalists for Lilla Melodifestivalen 2005. The names of the participants and the titles of their songs will however be kept secret until September. More than 1400 songs have been submitted by the Swedish kids this year.

Following a first selection round in which the 1400 submitted songs have been reduced to 100, SVT selected the ten best songs to take part in the Swedish national final for the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The live show of Lilla Melodifestivalen 2005 will be broadcast in October.

In spite of great results at the Eurovision Song Contest, Sweden could not yet impress at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The Honeypies with the song Stoppa mig! in 2003 and Limelights with Varför jag last year in Lillehammer both finished 15th.
