Ortal, who represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest this year in Kyiv, arrived in Israel last Tuesday. This Friday Ortal will perform in Tel-Aviv's gay parade.
Ortal was born in Israel and moved with her family to France at the age of 6. The French singer, who speakes fluent Hebrew, arrived in Israel last Tuesday for a 4 days visit. During her time in her native country Ortal will ,of course, pay a visit to her family but will also be interviewed for a couple of television shows on national channels.
Ortal reached a disappointing 23rd position in the Eurovision Song Contest's final in Kyiv this year, gaining only 11 points, 5 of them from Israel. “I didn't take the low position so hard. It was a wonderful week in Kyiv during which I met a lot of people. I am not so sure this contest is adequate for major countries like Germany or France. Eurovision is a good stage for small or less dominante nations” said Ortal to Ynet.co.il.
UPDATE: Ortal will perform today, Friday, on the main stage in Tel-Aviv's gay pride parade, in which thousands are supposed to participate.
