Belgium's representative in the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest, Emly Starr, made a once-only comeback by singing a duet with the well-known Italo-Belgian singer Adamo at a concert in the Flemish town of Zottegem. With the song Samson, the Lady Legs of the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin finished 13th.

24 years after she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest and 19 years after she last took the stage as a singer, Belgium's 1981 representative Emly Starr made a once-only comeback at a concert of Adamo in Zottegem.

“I wasn't too nervous,” Emly Starr reacted after performing a song in duet with Adamo. “I rather had a happy feeling because I could perform on a podium again.” Looking back at her Eurovision Song Contest experience, the 47 year-old singer says that sometimes people are still recognizing her.

“At that time, I reached the covers of many magazines,” Emly Starr continues. Mainly her long white dress with defiant split drew the attention. The United Kingdom's commentator Terry Wogan even gave her the nickname Lady Legs.

During her singing career, Emly Starr scored a couple of hits, in Belgium as well as in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and Japan. This once-only comeback however is very morish. “Certainly when I'm going to a concert, I miss being on stage myself,” she concludes. Nowadays she and her husband are organising concerts and events abroad.
