Two Swedish superstars met on the stage last night (22 February) on a TV show.

En helkväll med Lena Philipsson is the title of the 90 minute show, where Lena Philipsson sings her best known songs and invites her friends to join her on stage.

Lena Philipsson was of course the artist who sang the Swedish entry It hurts in Istanbul in 2004.

She had however tried her luck to represent Sweden on several occasions, and in this show she sings one of those candidates with another Melodifestivalen and Eurovision legend Carola.

Om igen was the Melodifestivalen runner-up in 1988.

Lena Philipsson has entered the Swedish national finals as an artist 4 times:

1986 Kärleken är evig (2nd)
1987 Dansa i neon (5th)
1988 Om igen (2nd)
2004 Det gör ont (Winner) (It hurts)

She has also had two songs in the contest as a songwriter:

1991 Tvillingsjäl (performed by Pernilla Wahlgren)
1999 Det svär jag på (performed by Arvingarna)

She also hosted Melodifestivalen in 2006. She is one of the most popular artists in Sweden and has had 12 albums 16 singles in the Swedish charts.

Carola has represented Sweden 3 times at the Eurovision Song Contest and won in 1991 with Fångad av en stormvind.

She has also entered Melodifestivalen several times and is rumoured to be the interval act at this year’s Melodifestivalen final in two weeks.
