Unconfirmed news state that Alexander Rybak is back in the Eurovision Song Contest scene. Four years after he broke all voting records in Moscow and won the Eurovision victory, Rybak is back as a songwriter. According to Norwegian media VG, Rybak is making a Eurovision comeback as a songwriter for a reality celebrity.

Right now it is unclear which song he composed as Norwegian broadcaster NRK are revealing the acts days before they are presented in the semi-final. Last May while in Baku in an interview with esctoday.com Alexander Rybak did not rule out the possibility to return to the contest and he specifically mentioned the chance of being a composer of a song. Reports state that Alexander Rybak wrote a song for Annsofi who came close to win the 2010 X-factor. Annsofi sang the song Baby its cold outside in a duet with Alexander Rybak on his Christmas album.

21 songs are competing in the Melodi Grand Prix as the selection kicks-off this Saturday. Three acts will qualify from each semi-final and a wild card will round-up the finalists to 10. The Melodi Grand Prix final will take place in the Oslo Spektrum hall, home of the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest. Apart of breaking the voting records in Eurovision history, Alexander Rybak’s Fairytale became the most downloaded winning song.
