SMTV, the Sammarinese national broadcaster has informed and confirmed to esctoday.com that the 2013 representative and entry will be officially revealed during a press conference scheduled to be held on 30 January at The Titano De Kursaal Hall in San Marino at 11.00 CET. More details will be disclosed in due course.
The Head of the Sammarinese delegation Mr. Alessandro Capicchioni will be preside the press conference along with Mr. Carlo Romeo the general director of the Sammarinese broadcaster SMTV.
Sammarinese newspaper Il Giornale reported yesterday about the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest and San Marino’s plans for this year’s Eurovision edition.
The general director of SMTV Mr. Carlo Romeo has confirmed to Il Giornale newspaper that SMTV has received many proposals from various singers who wish to represent San Marino at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. A special committee of music experts has been appointed to select the entry. Mr. Carlo went on to tell the local newspaper that they are currently considering 4 potential candidates for Malmö, but due to confidential reasons he can’t reveal the names. He pointed out that 2 of those candidates are internationally acclaimed.
Il Giornale asked Mr. Romeo about all the buzz and the speculations on the internet about Lys Assia representing San Malmö, he answered that he plans to reveal the name of the representatives at a special press conference, by the end of January. He expressed that the country’s goal in 2013 is to reach the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest final.
San Marino in 2008 debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest with Miodio.
