Spain to announce their representative today

TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster will announce the name of the act that will represent Spain at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest today.

Anne Igartiburu will have the honour of revealing the name of the 2013 Spanish Eurovision representative today at around 20.00 CET, on TVE’s evening entertainment chat show + Gente aired on TVE1.

TVE will be holding a special press conference on Tuesday 18 December at the TVE Headquarters in Torrespaña at 12.00pm  CET in order to officially present the Spanish representative to the Spanish press and media. Carlos Mochales, the Director of  TVE Entertainment Dept, and Mr. Federico Llano, the subdirector of TVE Festivals Dept, will be also be present during the press conference. TVE will reveal more details regarding their 2013 Eurovision entry and representative during the press conference.

TVE, the national Spanish broadcaster has informed esctoday.com that the Spanish 2013 Eurovision entry will be selected via a public and jury deliberation during a special televised song selection show. Last Monday TVE confirmed that Spain will compete at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden next year, and also revealed that the Spanish representative will be chosen via an internal selection. TVE has once again opted  for a well known artist to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest after Pastora Soler’s successful Eurovision experience in Baku.

TVE will be revealing the name of the Spanish representative later today. Spain has once again opted for the same method and mechanism to select both their Eurovision entry and representative like last year. The Spanish representative will perform a number of songs in a special Eurovision televised gala, where the Spanish public along with a special jury will select the 2013 Spanish Eurovision entry. The competing songs will be released on TVE’s official website prior to the competition.

Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has participated at every Eurovision edition since then. Spain has won the contest in 1968 and 1969.
