Glennis: “I believe in this song”

Glennis Grace, who will represent the Netherlands at the 50th Eurovision Song Contest with My impossible dream, was overwhelmed with the results of the Nationaal Songfestival 2005.

“We never counted on a victory, because in a contest like this, the results can turn out completely different at the end”, Glennis' manager said. “We started thinking about the final after winning last Thursday's semifinal”, he added, making clear that the victory was not as naturally as some people suggested.

During a press conference after the final, Glennis explained that she believes in this song, which has not been written especially for her, but suits her very well. “Sometimes this world scares me, which makes me realise that you have to work hard to survive. For example now, hoping this victory is a new impulse for my carreer”, she said.

My impossible dream will definitely appear on single, but it's not sure through which record company. Manager John van Katwijk said that her record company left her and other Dutch artists (Ruth Jacott, Edsilia and more) in the cold, in an attempt to cut down expenses. “Nevertheless, I hope the phone will ring tomorrow morning!”

Tomorrow we will publish a photo gallery of pics made before, during and after the Dutch national final. Stay tuned!
