TROS, the Dutch national broadcaster has informed Esctoday.com that the 2013 Dutch entry will be officially presented to the press and public in a press conference next February. A special press conference will be held in order to officially present Anouk and her Eurovision entry.
Yesterday the Dutch broadcaster officially announced that Anouk would fly the Dutch flag at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. The news went viral in just a few hours as major newspapers and news sites in the Netherlands and across Europe were covering this announcement. Anouk enjoys fame and recognition both in her homeland and overseas.
Earlier yesterday Anouk confirmed
through a video on her Facebook page that she will represent The Netherlands at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö next May. The Dutch singer went on to say:
This week I had a meeting with TROS and things went very well. I slept over it for a night, but this morning I woke up and thought: ‘I’m going to do it’, I think it will be loads of fun!
The Netherlands is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest having debuted at the very first Eurovision Song Contest, and has won the event 4 times ( 1957, 1959, 1969 and 1975). The Netherlands has hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 4 times in 1958 in Hiversum, in 1970 in Amsterdam, in 1976 and 1980 in The Hague.
