The first official news from Croatian broadcaster HRT regarding Dora 2005 has reached us. Janos Roemer from HRT explained esctoday.com that two semifinals with 8 songs each will be organised on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th March. 8 songs will proceed to the final, to be held on Saturday 5th March.

In a first selection round, HRT will select 20 songs, proposed by Croatian record companies. They will be introduced to the Croatian television viewers from 7th to 18th February and reduced to 16. These 16 songs will be performed during the semifinals of the 2005 Croatian Eurovision Song Contest selections.

Dora 2005 will include 2 semifinals with 8 songs each. 8 songs will proceed to the final to be held on Saturday 5th March. 50% televoting and 50% professional jury will decide who will represent Croatia in Kiev.

The shortlist with the 20 selected participants will be announced next week, most probably on Tuesday. Croatia will be present in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest, to be held on 19th May in Kiev.
