More than 100 songs have been submitted for the Macedonian Eurovision Song Contest selections. In a final to be held on 19th February 2005, the two finalists Martin Vucic and Aleksandra Pileva will both perform four songs, one written by their own team and three selected from the submitted entries.

Meanwhile, the Macedonian press is hungry for scandals and scoops and spreads a story about unfair behaviour of the two finalists Martin Vucic and Aleksandra Pileva and their team. In a reaction to esctoday.com Ivan Mircevski, responsible for the Eurovision Song Contest selections at Macedonian broadcaster MKRTV, confirmed that they have noticed unfair behaviour from both sides. “Yes, I was mad about that but I expect that everything will be cleared today.

Because of the unfair behaviour, MKRTV today organises a meeting where both teams will have to sign a statement of cooperation. Ivan Mircevski however stresses on the fact that the problems have been exaggerated in the Macedonian press and that the information they spread was only half true. “Macedonia is a small country with only two million citizens and journalists are hungry for such a scoop,” explains Mircevski and adds that he is very satisfied with the number of submitted songs for the Macedonian Eurovision Song Contest selections.
