Klaartje & Nicky, the Dutch representatives at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last Saturday, told local newspaper Brabants Dagblad that they eventually were disappointed with the 11th place they reached. They went to Lillehammer mainly to have fun but during the rehearsals, they actually started to believe that they had chances to win the contest.

During the rehearsals we started to criticise all the other songs, quietly of course, and in the end we thought we were the best, said Klaartje and Nicky to Brabants Dagblad. The British singer Cory Spedding added a little extra by declaring the Dutch song as her favourite (which she maintained after the result was known). The young Dutch girls started to believe that they had chances to win the contest but in the end they only reached the 11th place, a prolongation for the Netherlands as Roel finished 11th last year as well.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest was viewed by 1.149.000 Dutch people, according to SKO, a foundation that measures Dutch viewing figures. This means that the show had a rating of 7.7% and a market share of 16.7%. This means that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest wasn't the best viewed program on Dutch television last Saturday. The very popular cynical show Kopspijkers, which is broadcasted from 20:05 to 21:02 CET, had 2.625.000 viewers. After that show finished, a lot of viewers changed to the commercial channel SBS6 that broadcasted Wegmisbruikers, which attracted 1.399.000 viewers.
